The Environmental Science Center has quite a few animals located in a zoo-like atmosphere. They don't like to call it a zoo, but that's basically what it is.

The science majors can volunteer their time to help at the science center and feed the animals, look after them, and learn about their habits. It's a critical learning tool for the science department, although I sense what you're wondering. I don't like having animals caged up either, but I think we need to learn about them in order to help them in the world, should they become endangered. I would hate for foxes to go extinct.

They also have a javelina (a.k.a. peccary), an alligator pit with intimidating alligators, a fat raccoon named Rachel, a bobcat, a hawk, lots of fish, mice, rats, spiders, snakes, turtles, and ducks.

I love the little gray foxes, but they look so sad.

Thank you! This was made in the traditional darkroom style where I had to develop it using chemicals in a red-lit room. Those were fun times.
